Overflow Living 101 - How to Make Self-Care a Priority in Your Life

We've all heard the saying, "You can't serve from an empty cup." But what happens when you're pouring from a cup that never feels full? One night, God spoke to my heart, and I received this profound message: "Keep the cup and serve from the saucer!" By prioritizing my self-care, I ensure that my cup overflows, allowing me to serve others from a place of abundance and overflow.

When you serve from a place of abundance, you can assist others without neglecting your own needs. At first, this may seem strange because many of us have learned to serve until we are exhausted or feel guilty for refusing someone. The Word of God assures us of a life of abundance (John 10:10) and that we should thrive and be healthy as our soul prospers (3 John 2). This is the essence of living in overflow!

How can you make self-care a priority? Here are some cost-free ways to focus on self-care: set boundaries, be honest about your limits (it's okay to say no), and use your time purposefully. Feel free to comment below and share your strategies for "overflow living." Remember, keep your cup full and serve from the saucer!
